Treatment Principles

LSS residential services utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to meet the needs of youth in treatment. As a guiding practice and principle, LSS utilizes a Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) approach; specifically, the approach outlined in the Risking Connection® model. Additional evidence-based practices used include, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches in both individual and group counseling sessions to address specific issues, Thinking for a Change (T4C), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Reducing the Risk (RTR ), Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Darla Henry 3-5-7 Model and general behavior modification interventions.
