Adoption Services are based on a tradition of concern for children. Through the years, many young mothers found compassion and adoptive couples were able to realize their dreams of parenthood. Professional and dedicated service has resulted in building families, one child at a time. Lutheran Social Services offers services:
- For families looking to adopt a child domestically or internationally.
- For birth families facing difficult decisions regarding an unintended pregnancy.
- For individuals who have been adopted and their families who are searching for information about their birth families.
- For health care professionals who desire to learn more about the infant adoption through the Infant Adoption Training Initiative funded by the U.S. Dept, of Health & Human Services and implemented by LSS of S.D. in CO, MT, ND, SD, UT and WY.
LSS is licensed by the State of South Dakota as a child placement agency and accredited by the council of Accreditation for Children and Family Services. LSS social workers are licensed by the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
