Lutheran Disaster Response

Because of the above average snow melts and rainfall in the Missouri River valley in eastern Montana and western North Dakota, water levels in the Missouri River rose to the level that water in Lake Oahe had to be quickly released into Lake Sharpe. Word came on May 25, 2011 to prepare for flooding.

Your Help Is Needed

Calls for help continue to come in and will increase as the waters recede. Please consider contacting the Volunteer Service Center at 605-224-1189 to be added to the volunteer database. There will be thousands of sandbags that will need to be cleaned up and hundreds of homes that will need to be cleaned prior to the owners reoccupying their residences. Your help is needed! Thank you!
