South Dakota Residents Reach Out To Their Neighbors

From May 27 to June 5 the Volunteer Service Center worked with volunteers headquartered at United Methodist Church to organize and deliver 6,153 meals. 123 people volunteered through this feeding group and nearly 1,400 volunteer hours were documented. During this time. 193 people made food-related donations.

As of July 3, more than 600 volunteers through the center documented more than 9,000 volunteer hours. They have met more than 170 resident needs.

During this same time period, the Volunteer Service Center coordinated more than 400 volunteers who worked tirelessly to help save 178 homes from flooding through sandbagging.
