LSS Center for Financial Resources provides foreclosure prevention counseling.
While foreclosure rates are on the downtrend compared to the last several years, 2014 still saw more than one million foreclosure filings across the country. Foreclosure and the loss of a home leads to greater personal and community instability, emotional stress and depression, and a damaged credit history that can make it even more difficult for individuals to recover from financial difficulties.
Counselors at the LSS Center for Financial Resources (CFR) are equipped to help the homeowner address the many causes of financial hardship. While impending foreclosure may be the outstanding symptom, CFR counselors regularly evaluate the broad financial well being of their clients. Working toward maintaining a mortgage, CFR counselors will address budgeting, spending, and managing other debt, as well as other financial issues that contribute to the stress.
Whether a home owner has received a foreclosure notice or are simply expecting one, they should contact the Center for Financial Resources at 1-888-258-2227 to schedule an appointment.
“The sooner we can begin to communicate with lenders, the better our chances of preserving a client’s mortgage. I would encourage anyone feeling financial stress to schedule an appointment before the foreclosure process moves too far forward,” says Breck Miller, one of CFR’s certified consumer credit counselors.
