Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota

Infants and children available for adoption through LSS are of various ages and races. These children can be placed with families who are residents of the United States and South Dakota, at least 21 years old, and meet all state requirements for adoption.

Through the years, services have changed to keep pace with the changing needs of adoptive parents, birth parents and most importantly, the children. Today, adoption provides a wide range of options and opportunities allowing all parties to choose the level of contact comfortable for each of them.

Domestic adoption services include pre-adoption counseling, a home study, meeting birth parents and placement. When a child is placed, LSS provides follow up support and supervision until the adoption is legally finalized.
