CCCS is here to assist you with your efforts to prevent or resolve a delinquency by focusing on your goals, home loan, monthly spending and savings plans (budget), and other debt. You will be totally prepared to talk with your lender and provide up to date, accurate and documented information. If you've already fallen behind? It is imperative that you contact your lender. Again, CCCS can partner with you by offering loss mitigation counseling to help avert foreclosure. Most lenders will be willing to work out a plan with you if you will contact them and tell them of your financial concerns. Their objective is to collect the money due on your loan, not foreclose on it. If your choice is to keep your home and the payments are affordable, your counselor will assist you to put together a plan to bring your mortgage up to date, assist with lender negotiations and document your ability to handle the mortgage once it is up to date. CCCS housing counselors are prepared to discuss all loan workout options with you, including retention options as well as liquidation options. CCCS is a participant in the National Foreclosure Mortgage Counseling Program (NFMCP) that includes intensive foreclosure prevention training for housing counselors.
