Management & Domestic Violence
Program Watertown Outpatient Services Watertown Area Counseling Center has been providing an Anger Management & Domestic Violence Program for more than 16 years. The program has evolved from the Duluth Model to incorporating the Corrective Thinking Model and the Men’s At Work Model into its programming. The program goals are to reduce violent behavior and to manage anger. We are now implementing the MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) model into our program. This model will be the major focus while incorporating elements from using other models. Research confirms that the MRT model significantly reduces behaviors that could lead to re-offending. MRT is a systematic, step by step treatment strategy designed to enhance self image, promote growth of a positive, productive identity and facilitate the development of higher stages of moral reasoning.
