Therapeutic recreation is an important treatment component in developing self-esteem, physical skills, and leisure time activities. Canyon Hills Center provides therapeutic recreational activities that are culturally enriching and developmentally appropriate.

Children routinely participate in art classes, crafts and physical activities in the community. Taking advantage of the Black Hills Forest and the Little Big Horn Mountains, the children participate in hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and no trace camping.
