Horse Facilitated Therapy
Woodfield Center offers specialized programming using horses as therapeutic
tools to build self-respect, confidence, and relationship skills. Initially,
some children may be able to relate to animals easier than they relate
to people.
Horses are used to enhance a child's learning process, to help confront
their fears, and to develop patience, non-verbal communication, self-control,
and healthy affection. Horses provide a calming presence as children
gain knowledge and skills to improve their independence.
