Part-time includes daytime, evening and Saturday hours not to exceed 29 hours per week.
Provide English as a Second Language and citizenship instruction to refugee and immigrant adults. Plan lessons, teach classes and administer some assessments. Maintain class attendance and records of student progress. Participate in mandatory staff meetings, in-service trainings and conferences as scheduled.
Bachelor’s degree in education, English or related field and one year experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification or master’s degree in TESOL preferred. Must be enthusiastic and well-organized. Must have cross-cultural experience and an ability to communicate with limited English speakers. Must be flexible and able to teach English to beginning level students with limited previous formal education. Must successfully complete all agency background checks.
Salary: Depends on experience.
