Campaign for Hope
The Campaign for Hope will allow LSS to centralize core services on a campus-like setting in Sioux Falls. From this efficient hub, administrative and program services will stretch to existing sites in Aberdeen, Rapid City, and indeed, every corner of our state. This campaign supports the purchase and transforms the former Kilian Community College building in downtown Sioux Falls, to create the LSS Campus on East Bank.
The campus setting will allow a better utilization of our financial resources by eliminating duplication of expenses on maintenance, energy usage, instructional technology, classrooms and meeting spaces. It will be more economical to maintain and provides adequate space for future growth.
As a premier agency and a leader in providing human services, LSS must utilize twenty-first century technology and techniques such as teleconferencing and telehealth services. Technology will allow LSS to serve communities all across the state in the most efficient and productive way possible.
The Campus on East Bank is estimated to cost $6.9 million and will be completed in phases:
Purchase agreement for former Kilian Community College property
- Remodel 1st floor and refresh exterior. Gifts from the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Community Appeals Campaign are designated to support the remodeling of the first floor and refreshing of the building exterior.
- Relocate Center for New Americans.
2018 - 2019
Phase II: Design plans for the campus setting and construction.
Relocate Center for Financial Resources, Counseling, Mentoring, Fatherhood & Re-entry Services and LSS administration.
During my 35 years of serving in South Dakota, I have witnessed the ongoing gift of LSS in improving the lives of individuals, families and communities. Bishop David B. Zellmer, Governing Board of Directors, Sioux Falls
