Housing Counselor Certification Guides Quality of Services
LSS Center for Financial Resources is proud to announce that Sara Ramirez, CFR’s Counseling Coordinator, has accomplished her certification as a HUD Housing Counselor. Covering six key areas relating to housing, the certification helps to ensure housing and financial counseling clients are receiving high quality, holistic services.
Echoing those sentiments, Ramirez comments, “I feel this exam and certification have solidified and confirmed my financial counseling knowledge and will only help me as I serve our clients.” CFR continues to focus on client-centered service of the highest level.
The six key areas covered by the HUD certification are Financial Management, Housing Affordability, Fair Housing, Home Ownership, Avoiding Foreclosure, and Tenancy. While HUD has set a deadline for certification of August of 2020, CFR is aiming to have all counselors certified by the end of 2018.
