Expanded Homebuyer Education Opportunities, June 9, 2017
June is National Homebuyer Month. A natural busy season for home buying and selling, the Center for Financial Resources is using this month to increase awareness and education for potential home buyers. CFR continues to offer regular Homebuyer Express classes in Sioux Falls. These classes cover a wide range of topics related to home buying and participants will receive the HERO certificate which may help them qualify for specific home loan products and other down payment assistance programs and credits.
CFR is expanding the accessibility of these classes by now offering them via video conference. “While we have offered a condensed version over the phone and by video conference, we can now offer the full class to clients regardless of where they are located,” explained Breck Miller, Community Relations Coordinator for CFR. “Now they can experience the full benefits of guest lender and Realtor presenters as well as the experiences and questions of other class participants.”
The June Homebuyer Express classes are:
Part 1 – June 20th, 5:30-8:30, Sioux Falls Downtown Library
Part 2 – June 27th, 5:30-8:30, Sioux Falls Downtown Library
Attendance via video conference will be available for all monthly evening classes. Those wishing to join by video conference must have access to the internet and a webcam and must register at least 24 hours in advance. They can register at LssSD.org or by calling 605-330-2700.
Homebuyer Express classes are free for those attending and are funded through the HERO program of the South Dakota Housing Development Authority.
